The 10th Conference on International Exchange of Professionals (CIEP) was successfully held in Shenzhen from November 4 to 5, 2011. This CIEP consisted of 4 parts, i.e. Exhibitions & Negotiations, Shenzhen Forum, Professional Conferences, and High-end Recruitment. International professional conferences like Round-table Meeting on International Talent Issues were newly established, and a parallel session for highly-skilled professionals was set up for the first time. There were more than 2,100 exhibition booths, with an exhibition area of 60,000 m2, covering various links of the talent field. The exhibition was attended by over 3,000 overseas professional organizations and institutions from over 70 countries and regions, more than 2,000 overseas representatives, and more than 6,000 professional representatives from human resources and foreign expert systems of various provinces and cities in China. Finn Kydland and Edward Prescott, 2004 Nobel laureates in economics, Avram Hershko, 2004 Nobel laureate in chemistry, Ada Yonath, 2009 Nobel laureate in chemistry, and other renowned experts attended the conference.
During the 10th CIEP, 35 signing and promotion activities were carried out and more than 120 special fairs and business meetings were held. Totally 110,000 people attended the professional conferences, exhibitions and negotiations, Shenzhen Forum, and high-end recruitment.
In terms of talent introduction, the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs newly certified 15 foreign institutions and institutions from outside Chinese Mainland that can engage in international talent exchange activities in China, which has made the number of such institutions 398 up to now, including 108 expert institutions and 290 training institutions; while in terms of international talent exchange, the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs signed or preliminarily reached 1,279 cooperation agreements, 775 of which were for foreign experts introduction, 360 for overseas training, and 144 for other purposes; and the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs newly certified 60 domestic employers that can engage foreign cultural and educational experts (There are totally 6,161 such employers all over China). According to available statistics, provinces and cities reached over 1,500 intentions to cooperate with professional organizations and training institutions on talent attraction projects.
